Editorial Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Editorial Policy explains how content on Loops & Lacquer is created, reviewed, and maintained.
How content is created
Every tutorial, design round-up, and pattern published on this site starts with hands-on testing. Nail designs are actually painted and photographed; crochet patterns are actually stitched, start to finish, before instructions are written up. We don’t publish a technique or pattern we haven’t personally tried.
Inspiration round-ups — posts that curate trends or ideas rather than presenting an original step-by-step — are clearly written as such, and we credit original sources where they’re known.
Originality
We’re committed to producing original photographs, original written instructions, and our own honest take on trends, rather than copying text or images from other sites. When a pattern or technique is inspired by someone else’s work, we do our best to credit and link to the original creator.
Review and updates
Posts are periodically reviewed to make sure instructions still make sense, links still work, and any product recommendations are still current. When a technique, tool, or piece of information changes, we update the relevant post rather than leaving outdated advice live.
Corrections
If a reader points out an error — whether it’s a typo, a confusing instruction, a broken link, or a factual mistake — we take it seriously and aim to correct it promptly. You can report an issue through our Contact page at any time, and we welcome the feedback.
Independence
Our recommendations reflect our own genuine opinions and testing experience. While this site may earn revenue through advertising or affiliate links (see our Disclaimer), no design, pattern, or product recommendation is chosen or influenced by that revenue. We recommend what we would use ourselves.
